Somebody finally said it: stop pasting AI output into human conversations. dontpastetheai.com is a blunt little plea making the rounds on Hacker News, and it's about damn time. Whether it's ChatGPT slop in bug trackers or Claude-generated "help" in support threads, the message is clear β your LLM's confident nonsense isn't a substitute for actually reading the room, understanding the problem, and writing your own words.

The fact that a site like dontpastetheai.com even needs to exist says everything about the state of open source discourse right now. Maintainers are drowning in AI-generated issue reports that sound plausible but describe code that was never written. PRs arrive with commit messages that read like a press release from a company that doesn't exist. Support threads turn into a hall of mirrors where an AI answers an AI, and the human who started the thread is long gone. The site is a simple, almost quaint request: show a bare minimum of respect for the humans on the other side of the screen.
