Encountered this horned helmet on a hike

Found this helmet on an unofficial hiking path in a forest in North Wales, United Kingdom. I'm certain that nobody else was around. The horns had elaborate carvings on them. The forests are very tranquil around these parts so I was pretty surprised. We turned around and quickly went back to the main hiking trail after taking these photos. Not sure what to think of this.
